Florida Property and Casualty Insurance Fraud Task Force

MISSION

The Task Force was created by the Florida Department of Financial Services in 2010. The mission of the Task Force is to reduce, deter or eliminate Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance Fraud, including but not limited to homeowners, apartment, rental dwelling, condominium, boat, commercial, personal articles and church insurance.

 

 

 

What is Insurance Fraud?

• Insurance fraud is the intentional deception to receive money or other benefits in an insurance transaction.

• Insurance fraud is committed by all types of people at every level of society, not just by criminals and organized crime rings.

• A conviction for insurance fraud may result in imprisonment or other criminal penalties.

• Insurance fraud is not a victimless crime.
